Dr. Montari D. Morrison, Sr. was born in Tyler, Texas on January 21, 1982 to Dr. Lester David Morrison and Johnnie Ruth Morrison. His Father, Dr. Lester David Morrison pastored the Greater New Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist (Tyler, Texas) in the 1980s. Dr. Montari D. Morrison is a third generational pastor, a lover of God, His Word,and his Word, and His People. He is a distinguished leader, serving as Senior Pastor of North Star Missionary Baptist Church , Tyler, Texas.
 
He has served as President of the Ministers' Coalition of Harris County and Vicinity.         
 
Dr. Morrison graduated with honors from Mount Pleasant High School, Mount Pleasant, Texas. After graduating from Mount Pleasant High School, he pursued his theological education at the Theocracy School of Divinity (D. Div.) Degree.
 
In September 2011, Dr. Morrison was called to the Greater Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Victoria, Texas, making history as the first African American Minister to be deputized by the Victoria County Sheriff's Office . In  2017, Dr. Morrison accepted leadership of the Philippian 's New faith Baptist Church where he continued to serve with unwavering  dedication.
 
During the unprecedented challenges of a Pandemic, Dr. Morrison established the Ministers' Coalition of Harris County and Vicinity . The Ministers' Coalition, a vital union of clergy dedicated to pooling resources and enhancing support for local churches and their communities. The Coalition  has become a critical lifeline, distributing millions of pounds of groceries and tens of thousands of dollars to those in need since 2020.
 
Dr. Morrison has fourteen (14) years of hands-on-experience in Senior Pastoral Leadership.  He is a well established Faith Leader in Houston where he resided prior to the Smith County Area. Dr. Morrison has an extensive knowledge of Baptist Doctrine,  Church Policies  and Procedures . He has a passion for improving, elevating , and progressing the African American  Community.
 
Dr. Morrison fosters strong partnership with civic leaders, at the National, State,City, and District levels demonstrating his commitment to collaborate community service .
 
Dr. Montari D. Morrison, Sr. was a recent recipient of the National Black Caucus" Texas of the Year" 2025 in Austin, Texas.
 
He also dedicated his time to mentoring young athletes through a weekly high school Bible Study Group. At 43 years old, Dr.  Morrison remains a dynamic force, driven to achieve even greater victories for his parishioners and the wide community.
 
In addition to Dr. Morrisons' professional accomplishments, he is a " Devoted Family Man". He is the husband of Coren Morrison and together they have four children:  Rhaegan, Montari , Jr., Calree', and Mylah.
